Mountain diversity

Mountain diversity

From late May until November the picturesque place of Turracher Höhe at an altitude of almost 1.800 m above sea level presents magnificent scenery. The scenic interplay of the high peaks and the three idyllic mountain lakes Turracher See, Schwarzsee and Grünsee create a place of outstanding beauty.

Austria’s largest pine wood forest
Turracher Höhe is surrounded by Austria’s largest Swiss pine forest. Swiss pines belong to the group of the extremely rare species of conifers, growing in specific altitudes around the tree line. The Swiss pine is a slow growing, compact, extremely cold-resistant tree which can reach an age of 1000 years.

Excellent pollen-free mountain air
The healthy, crispy alpine mountain air of the Turracher Höhe is of best quality and pollen-free, a fact which is especially appreciated by people who suffer from allergies.
